Discover DRFX Manager Pro
Learn how DRFX Manager Pro helps streamline your DaVinci Resolve workflow by organizing and managing your DRFX, macros, and fuse files.
Effortless Asset Installation
Utilize the 'Installer' tab to drag and drop DRFX, .setting, and .fuse files. The tool intelligently categorizes and installs single files, multiple assets, or entire folders into DaVinci Resolve.
For .setting files within a folder, the manager will prompt you to select the appropriate category (e.g., Effect, Title, Transition).
Navigating the Library Manager
Access the 'Library Manager' to view all installed DRFX. Use the search bar, switch between card and list views, and adjust card sizes for a customized display.
Monitoring with the Health Dashboard
Open the 'Health Dashboard' to get an overview of your DRFX installations, including total, disabled, and active load (RAM usage). This helps identify large files impacting Resolve's performance.
DRFX files loaded into DaVinci Resolve's RAM cannot be modified until Resolve is closed.
Enabling and Disabling DRFX
Easily enable or disable any installed DRFX from the Library Manager. Note that changes for DRFX loaded into DaVinci Resolve's RAM (indicated by a green signal) require closing Resolve before modification.
Identify In-Use DRFX with Live Check
Activate 'Live Check' to constantly monitor which DRFX files are currently loaded into DaVinci Resolve's RAM. Assets 'in use' cannot be modified until DaVinci Resolve is closed.
Live Check updates every 10 seconds. Disable it once you've identified the loaded assets.
Fine-Tune DRFX Packs with Q Option
Use the 'Q' (Queue) option to delve into DRFX packs and manage individual effects, titles, or folders. You can disable specific components to optimize your Resolve interface without affecting the entire pack.
Changes made within the Q option might take 5-30 seconds to reflect in DaVinci Resolve, or require a restart of Resolve for immediate visibility.
Verify Font Dependencies
Utilize the 'Check Fonts' feature within a DRFX's details to see which fonts are used and if any are missing from your system, ensuring your effects render correctly.
Free Up Drive Space with DRFX Vault
Configure a custom 'DRFX Vault' path in the 'Configuration' tab to move installed DRFX files from your main drive to another location. This is ideal for optimizing storage.
To move files to the Vault, you must restart DRFX Manager Pro as an administrator. Ensure DaVinci Resolve is closed if the DRFX is currently in use.
Transcript
If you have installed a lot of DRFX files, macros, and .fuse files in DaVinci Resolve, you might face trouble managing them. This video introduces DRFX Manager Pro, a powerful tool designed to help you manage, enable, disable, and organize all your DRFX assets professionally. This tool was created by the speaker, and this video provides a detailed overview of its features and usage. The link to the tool is available in the description.
The DRFX Manager Pro interface features multiple tabs. Let's explore them one by one. The 'Installer' tab allows you to install DRFX, .setting, and .fuse files simply by dragging and dropping them into the interface. It supports single files, multiple files, or combinations. When installing a folder containing .setting files (like 'Kabir Verse' as shown), the manager prompts you to specify the category (e.g., Effect, Title, Transition) where it should be placed in DaVinci Resolve. Once confirmed, the files are installed quickly and accurately in their respective locations. This eliminates the need for manual installation.
The 'Library Manager' tab displays all your installed DRFX files, often with thumbnails. It shows the total number of installed plugins and includes a search bar to find specific assets. You can switch between 'Card View' and 'List View' for different visual presentations and use a slider to adjust card sizes.
A key feature is the 'Health Dashboard,' which provides an overview of your DRFX installations. It shows the number of installed and disabled DRFX, their storage locations, and the 'Active Load' (RAM usage). Large DRFX files can consume significant RAM when DaVinci Resolve is open. The Health Dashboard explains that DRFX files loaded into Resolve's RAM cannot be disabled, enabled, or deleted until DaVinci Resolve is closed. You can easily enable or disable DRFX files from here; disabling a DRFX instantly removes it from Resolve. If you try to disable a DRFX currently loaded in RAM, you will receive an error message.
To identify which DRFX files are loaded in RAM, a 'Live Check' feature is available. Enabling Live Check will cause the manager to check every 10 seconds, marking DRFX files as 'in use.' This helps you understand which assets require DaVinci Resolve to be closed before they can be modified. Once done, Live Check can be disabled.
The 'Q' (Queue) option offers granular control within DRFX packs. For instance, if you have a pack like 'Swift Pack 2' with multiple folders and effects, you can use the Q option to view its internal structure. Here, you can collapse or expand folders and disable specific effects or entire sub-folders. For example, disabling the 'Zoom' folder within 'Swift Pack 2' will remove all its contents from Resolve. It's important to note that changes made within the Q option might take 5-30 seconds to reflect in DaVinci Resolve, or a restart of Resolve might be needed for immediate visibility. The search option within the Q feature also helps you quickly find and disable specific effects inside a large pack. Additionally, the 'States' option in the Q view provides a summary of effects, titles, and transitions within a DRFX.
Another useful feature is 'Check Fonts.' When you install a DRFX, if the required fonts are not present on your system, the effect may not work. Check Fonts tells you which fonts are used in a DRFX, where they are used, and whether they are installed or missing from your system, aiding in troubleshooting.
Finally, the 'DRFX Vault' feature addresses storage concerns. If your C: drive is full, you can move DRFX files to another drive. First, go to the 'Configuration' tab, enable 'DRFX Vault,' and select a custom directory (e.g., on your D: drive). Once set, you can move any DRFX to this vault from the Library Manager. However, similar to disabling, any DRFX currently loaded in Resolve's RAM cannot be moved until Resolve is closed. Moving files to the vault also requires restarting DRFX Manager Pro as an administrator due to Windows security permissions. This ensures efficient storage management while keeping your assets accessible within DaVinci Resolve.
