Hey guys, DaVinci Resolve 21 has been launched, and it comes with a lot of new features. In this video, I'm going to tell you about the top five AI features in DaVinci Resolve 21 and how to use them in detail. The very first AI feature is AI CineFocus. With its help, you can blur your background and give your video a more cinematic look. To use it, simply stay in the Edit page, go to Effects, and search for 'CineFocus'. You'll find it under ResolveFX. Drag and drop it onto your clip. As soon as you drop it, you'll see my subject is in focus and the background is blurred. In the Inspector tab, you get many customization options. You should select 'OpenFX Overlay'. This allows you to tap on any area to bring it into focus, while the rest becomes defocused. If I tap here, this area comes into focus. You also get several options like Bokeh Quality: Fast or Better. If you have a good graphics card, you can select 'Better'. You also get a dedicated Depth tab where you can adjust the depth to improve the focus effect. Next, the Focus tab allows you to see which area is in focus and you can change the depth of field. The Aperture option controls the amount of background blur. This way, you can easily achieve a cinematic look in your normal videos. Our next AI effect is AI Face Age Transform. To use this, go to the Color page and select the clip. In the Effects tab, search for 'Face'. You will find the 'Face Age Transformer'. Drag and drop it onto your node. Click on 'Detect Faces in Frame'. Select the face you want to apply the effect to with your mouse, and then click to track the face. Tracking might take some time depending on your video's length. Once tracked, turn off 'Show Overlay'. You'll see two main sliders: Subject Age and Age Offset. Let's say I want to make the subject look older, I'll increase the 'Subject Age' slider. But you'll notice nothing changes until you adjust the 'Age Offset' slider. As I increase the Age Offset, you'll see the subject starts to look aged. This effect applies throughout the entire video. If you want to make them look younger, just move the sliders into the negative values. The skin will become smoother. The third AI feature is AI Blemish Removal. For this, we also need to be in the Color page. In the Effects tab, search for 'Blemish'. You'll find the new 'Blemish Removal' effect. Drag and drop it onto your node, and you'll see the blemishes are removed. If there are many blemishes, you can increase the strength slider to remove them completely. Our fourth AI feature is AI Face Reshaper. This allows you to modify the shape of a face. Go to the Color page, search for 'Face' in Effects, and you'll find 'Face Reshaper'. Drag and drop it, then detect and track the face just like before. Once tracked, turn off 'Show Overlay'. You get several options for Face Shape, Eyes, Nose, Mouth, and Eyebrows. You can use the sliders to change any part. For example, if I want to make the eyes bigger, I'll increase the eye size slider, which creates a funny look. You can also change the angle, nose size, and width. For the mouth, I can even make the subject smile. This effect applies to the entire video and can be great for creating funny content. Our next and final fifth AI feature is AI Ultra Sharpen. To use this effect, stay in the Edit page. Go to the Effects tab, click on ResolveFX, and search for 'Ultra'. You'll find the 'Ultra Sharpen' effect. Drag and drop it onto your clip. You can see this clip is a bit low quality. After applying the effect, you can see a bit more sharpness. You can use the slider to increase the sharpness even more. Finally, a bonus and hidden AI feature I can't use right now. In the Media Pool, if I right-click on a clip and go to AI Tools, there's a new option called 'Remove Motion Blur'. But when I click it, it shows that you need at least 12GB of VRAM. My RTX 3060 Ti only has 8GB of VRAM, so I can't use it. But it was important to cover this. If you have a graphics card with 12GB of VRAM or more, you can use this feature.
